Karl started his 30 years’ experience in financial markets at KBC bank evolving from managing and establishing equity and fixed income funds into setting up KBC Financial Products Brussels, an equity derivatives and structured products subsidiary where he ended as CEO and member of the executive committee of KBC FP Group.
Since 2004 Karl acts as consultant serving on several boards of private equity and investment management companies, for amongst others Degroof Petercam. Karl also serves as lay judge in the commercial court of Ghent.
Gardening, family and friends make his life complete.
Dr.Ir. Jan De Spiegeleer
After a 10 year stint as an officer in the army, Jan accumulated over 20 years of experience in the financial markets.
Before founding RiskConcile in 2015, he was based both in London and Brussels, where he was a managing director at KBC Financial Products. He was responsible for the equity derivatives desk (trading and structuring). After that he took an assignment as a risk manager and became in 2007 head of risk management at Jabre Capital Partners, a Geneva-based hedge fund management company.
In his spare time, he loves to cook and read a good history book.
Prof. Wim Schoutens
Wim is professor in financial engineering at the University of Leuven, Belgium. He has extensive practical experience of model implementation and validation. He is well known for his consulting work to the banking industry and national and supra-national institutions.
He is an independent expert advisor to the European Commission (DG-COMP). Wim is the author of several books on quantitative finance and is member of different editorial Boards of international finance journals.
Finally, he enjoys making his own jam from time to time.
Lieven Op De Beeck
Lieven has a hybrid profile with a background in both IT development and equity markets.
He started his career in 2002 at KBC Financial Products, after which he transitioned towards an equity portfolio manager role at Degroof Petercam, where he was active for 12 years. Next to running a long-only equity fund, he also participated in a portable alpha and a hedge fund project.
When he's not behind his desk, Lieven tries not to crash while riding his bicycle.
