UK Fund Regulation Reform:Divergence By Design
Whether you manage AIFs, UCITS, or both, the ground beneath UK fund regulation is shifting. These proposals could reshape how you're classified, what you report, and to whom; regardless of which side of the AIFM/UCITS line you currently sit on.
On 14 July 2026, the FCA and HM Treasury proposed the biggest overhaul of UK fund regulation since 2013. Two changes will hit nearly every UK fund manager: a new size-based AIFM classification system, and a unified fund reporting framework that reaches well beyond firms currently in scope of AIFM reporting. A related proposal would also simplify remuneration rules.
Nothing is final. These are consultations, not rules. But the direction is clear, and 2028 is closer than it looks.
Our whitepaper breaks down what's proposed, who it affects, and how to start planning now. Download it today!
